I observed an elderly couple
In the park the other day
Walking slowly hand in hand
Enjoying the beauty of the day.

I was genuinely moved to tears
As the gentleman stopped in place
And gazed into his lady's eyes
As he kindly touched her face.

Then he kissed her delicately
Upon her soft glowing cheek
And said something to her
Though I couldn't hear him speak.

He gazed at her with devotion
Through sensitive caring eyes
And the beauty of their love
Touched me deeply down inside.

To live, love and grow old together
this is how love should be.
When I walked down the aisle
it was my belief and dream.
