Sometimes it seems that nothing is going right.  We can get carried away with fear, pain, and woes.  When it's a "poor me" kind of day, it is good to count our blessings...one by one.  Think of the major things to be sure, but also concentrate on all the little things that bring you joy, like...

...sunlight dancing pirouettes on the carpet
...unfolding of a new violet bloom
...syncopated rhythm of splashing rain drops

...a butterfly morning
...a wildflower afternoon
...driftwood sculpted by years of caressing water
...the strength of a spider web
...sun sparkling diamonds on the early morning dew
..."hearing" the sun rise
...sunshine tickling my nose until I sneeze
...fallen leaves leaping across the lawn
...putting one's self on "gentle cycle"
...using courage as a launching pad
...swinging on hinges of joy
...accepting the splinters in life
...light breaking through the darkness
...the artisanship of an oriole's nest
...sunset bringing closure to the day
...entwined grape leaves
...flood waters receding
...a choir of song birds
...velcro hugs (especially if it's your grandchild)
...sunshine and SONshine
...weeding out our sinful nature
...crisp, colorful, cascading autumn leaves
...the prism of colors after a rainbow
...touring the sky through binoculars
...pleasure that sneak up on us
...pure, hopping-up-and-down, joy!
...snow sculpted mounds chiseled by the wind
...choosing our attitudes
...reservoirs of courage
...a canoe slithering along the water
...sowing seeds of peace
...slipping into a serene silence
...turning "have to" into "get to"
...climbing out of the pity of doubt
...the miracle of life God gives us
...feeling relaxed about God's plan for us
...shouting to the world...Praise and thanksgiving to my Savior, My Lord!

The above is a collection of thoughts...
from me and others

Midi playing ~ "Give Thanks"
Performed by Margi Harrell
Used with permission

If you haven't figured it out by now, "Give Thanks" is one of my favorite songs of praise.
It reminds me that each day has all kinds of possibilities because of God's love
and to thank Him for all He has done for me and for others!
