Walking in my garden today
I saw a beautiful butterfly
Resting on a leaf of gold
A lovely picture to behold.

Lacy wings of orange and black
So delicate we cannot touch
Seeing this beautiful resting butterfly
Is a moment I treasure very much.

Somehow I knew the time had come
The resting butterfly must leave
What a sight this has been for me
Seeing such beauty is hard to believe.

In my heart I feel such a thrill
That I had been chosen to see
A beautiful resting butterfly
A gift that God gave to me.
