FATHERS TO SONS

"Why did God make waterfalls - dad?"
my young son asked one day.
Surprised - I had to stop and think
about the words to say.

"Because, my son, our God delights
in all His pretty things
like waterfalls and animals
and flowers in the spring."

"But what about the rainbows, dad,
does God enjoy them too?"
"I'm sure God loves those colors, son,
up in the sky so blue."

"But what about me?" my son then asked.
"Does God like me like the rest?"
"Oh yes, my son." was my reply,
"I'll bet God likes you best!"

With that he smiled and held my hand
and as we walked away
I prayed a "thank-you" in my mind
for finding words to say.

Fathers to sons His love is spread
inspired from above.
Moments we will never forget -
a heritage of love.
