The waves roll in, what shall they bring
As each day dawns of good or ill,
Each moment fills
Then swift withdraws
To freely give, or quickly take
On unseen wind
A wave will surely, rise to break
And shall a life stand up or fall
Beneath that weight, to shoulder all
Though who withstands the current flow
While some appear
To chase all fear
Yet deeper still a hardness forms
To hide the pain, each sorrow borne
But, when we see each wave as sent
In love from God,
His goodness meant
Then shall that chosen, ebb and flow
With hidden call
Remove the more
Revealing love, alone to know
Each wave is then, not random force
But God's dear hand
Of His own cause
He takes our soul as His to keep
We won't wash up, on any beach
But in His love, we'll ebb and flow
Forever kept, we're His alone.
