After a while
Peace becomes a habit
Rather than a goal,
Something to put on in the morning
when we arise,
And wear throughout the day.

Peace becomes the journey
Not the destination,
Carrying us from place to place,
As we experience ourselves
In different situations
And deal with them peacefully.

Peace becomes the practice,
Not the performance
As we do our exercises
Over and over, developing
The ability to meet ourselves
Wherever we are, with love.
