I know you can't remember
Or know who I might be
The mind has lost it's focus
Beautiful eyes no longer see.
You live in your
own little world
Of confusion and make believe
Our love and understanding
With vacant eyes you receive.
Helpless and all
alone
In a world not understood
We'd like to make you happy
If only we could.
A disease that
can affect us all
Special subjects it does not choose
Let us help and try to understand
We have nothing at all to lose.
If you have a
love one
And Alzheimer's is their plight
Get on your knees and ask for help
Let us all join in this fight.
Such a helpless
feeling
When there's nothing we can do
When a love one lives in another world
And does not recognize you.
I pray that God
in Heaven
Blesses caregivers everywhere
Who lives with these special people
And give them tender loving care.
