I've been searching for a long time. Looking outside ~ never inside. I've been running. I've been crying. Always blaming ~ never trying.

But, then one day it happened. I really can't explain. Like a burst of love came shining through the dark and pouring rain. The clouds on my soul just vanished. The weight lifted from me. It was then that I found the answer ~ it was then that I found the Key.

God's love in you and me.

For so long I felt on the outside ~ I just didn't fit in. Livin' a life of emptiness, livin' a life of sin. Oh, the emptiness kept growing, nothin' would fill it up. But, on that day when the rain poured in God filled His loving cup.

I prayed for answers ~ just needed to know. Kept hanging on to bad times ~ couldn't let them go. When I got no answers, my heart was filled with doubt. It was then that the rain came pourin' down because I went and shut God out. But, He never gave up on me ~ no. He never gave up on me.

Today's a new day. Every day's a new day. From now on I'll sing my song ~ and it will be to Him ~ for washing my pain with His lovin' rain. And, forgiving me all my sins. I trust in Him, (only Him) I trust in Him, (only Him)

And the key to finding the love in me was always there within.
