Father, please lead my heart
and direct me
Give me the words of Your undying love
Words to help others to receive You
I need the guidance from You above
You speak sometimes so very
quietly
I faintly hear your chiming sound
And yet, I understand the words
And quickly I try to get them
down
I love the whispers you give
to me
So softly instructing, and
yet so direct
They guide me safely through
the day
Leading me cautiously, my deeds to select
Help me to be more
understanding, loving and kind
When a brother or sister is in need of You
Keep me focused on Your words
and love
So perhaps, through You, I
can help them too
Whether a few words from your
Holy Book
Or a shoulder to lean upon
for a while
Let me help those I can, and
be in Your service
Help me to bring upon their
face a little smile
My prayer in the morning
begins the day
And even during the day our
little talks
...They keep me strong and
comforted
Throughout each of life's
daily walks
Yes, throughout the day you
are with me still
And as I put the covers over
me at night
And snuggle deep with the
warmth
I say another little prayer
.......to keep all safe till
daylight
