A little note came dancing
Dancing to the room,
A little note came prancing
To begin a happy tune.
The Conductor had the baton
He said, it's your refrain,
So the little note was ushered in
At the perfect time to play.

At times the little note was cheeky
Bouncing knee to knee,
Or hushed down to a whisper
To play contentedly.
As more little notes came spinning
Skipping through the air,
The room was filled with euphony
The tune was everywhere.

Music danced into the meadow
Following the flow,
Climbing to the highest height
Oh, the places joy could go.
Rapport to play in one accord
Distinct for all to hear,
Confident to swing along
With little thought of fear.

Then softly, oh to mellow very gently
Love song to shyly croon,
The happiest of melody
Beneath the glowing moon.
Suddenly the tune grew swift
Swept faster in the hustle,
Building, lifting, hurrying on
Twirling in the tussle.

Yet still holding to the key of life
Knowing gentle tone and grace,
Keeping harmony, as called
To extol wherever placed.
Very slowly the strain wavered, frayed
As some parts were called away,
The little note was lonesome
Left all bereft, afraid.

It cried, oh how to play
What tune will be my guide,
Then a voice above cried
Look up, transfix your gaze on high.
So the little note kept dancing
A blessing, come what may,
Knowing the Conductor is the One
Who calls the symphony to play.
