What did you get for Valentines day,
these words were asked of me...
did you get a dozen roses?
or perhaps a diamond ring.
Did your sweetheart give you a car,
some candy or a cake...
perhaps some money in a card
or a cruise you both can take?
And I just smiled and winked,
for they just don't understand,
that what I got for Valentines day
cannot be held in a hand...
my gift is much more precious
than any ring of gold,
he gave to me undying love
a promise that never grows old.
He put a smile into my heart
and a twinkle in my eyes,
for this I'd trade a thousand gifts
for it's something you cannot buy.
